2014 CMS Winter Meeting sets record for student attendees (Dec 17)
The 2014 Canadian Mathematical Society’s Winter Meeting drew a record number of Canadian and international student attendees. Students made up approximately 25 per cent of the 500 mathematicians that participated in lectures, scientific sessions and professional development from Dec. 5 to 8 in Hamilton.
2014 G. de B. Robinson Award Winners Announced (Nov 4)
The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2014 G. de B. Robinson Award. Jonathan M. Borwein (Newcastle, NSW), Armin Straub (Illinois), James Wan (Newcastle, NSW), and Wadim Zudilin (Newcastle, NSW) and J. Nekovář (Université Pierre et Marie Curie) are being honoured this year. The award is given out to recognize outstanding contributions to the CJM or the Canadian Mathematical Bulletin (CMB).
Shawn Godin to receive CMS 2014 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service (Oct 6)
The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce that Shawn Godin (Cairine Wilson Secondary School, Ottawa, Ontario) is the recipient of the 2014 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service. The award recognizes individuals who have made sustained and significant contributions to the Canadian mathematical community and, in particular, to the Canadian Mathematical Society.
Frédéric Gourdeau to receive CMS 2014 Adrien Pouliot Award (Aug 19)
The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce that Professor Frédéric Gourdeau of Université Laval is the recipient of the 2014 Adrien Pouliot Award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to mathematics education in Canada. Math Team Canada 2014 Wins Olympiad Gold, Silver and Bronze (Jul 15)
Math Team Canada returned home today after their 9th place success at the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Each of the six Canadian high school contestants earned a medal for Canada while competing against over a hundred countries at the world championship mathematics competition for high school students.
Xiangwen Zhang to receive CMS 2014 Doctoral Prize (Jul 4)

Math Team Canada 2014 Chosen for International Mathematical Olympiad (Jun 11)
The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) is pleased to announce the selection of Math Team Canada 2014 – a team of top Canadian high school students. Six members of the team will travel to Cape Town, South Africa to compete in the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) from July 3-13.
Leading mathematician garners prestigious national CMS award (Apr 23)

Davidson from the University of Waterloo is the recipient of the 2014 CMS David Borwein Distinguished Career Awardin recognition of his exceptional, broad, and continued contributions to mathematics. Gail Wolkowicz to Receive 2014 CMS Krieger-Nelson Prize (Mar 26)
