2011 G. de B. Robinson Award Recipients (Oct 28)
The CMS is pleased to announce that Hugh Thomas (UNB) and Alexander Yong (Illinois - Urbana-Champaign) are the recipients of the 2011 G. de B. Robinson Award for their paper "Multiplicity-Free Schubert Calculus."  The award recognizes the publication of excellent papers in CJM and CMB.
2011 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service Recipient (Sep 20)
The CMS is pleased to announce that David Rodgers is the recipient of the 2011 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service. The award recognizes individuals who have made sustained and significant contributions to the Canadian mathematical community and, in particular, the Canadian Mathematical Society.
2011 Doctoral Prize Winner (Sep 19)
The CMS is pleased to announce that Youness Lamzouri is the recipient of the 2011 Doctoral Prize. The prize recognizes outstanding performance by a doctoral student.
2011 Adrien Pouliot Award (Aug 15)
The CMS is pleased to announce that Dr. Malgorzata Dubiel of Simon Fraser University (SFU) is the recipient of the 2011 Adrien Pouliot Award in recognition of her outstanding contributions to mathematics education in Canada.
Mariya Sardarli awarded the Sun Life Financial Cup (Aug 2)
The Canadian Mathematical Society and Sun Life Financial jointly presented Mariya Sardarli with the Sun Life Financial Cup at the CMS Summer Meeting in Edmonton, Alberta. The award recognizes the first prize standing in the Sun Life Financial Canadian Mathematical Olympiad (CMO), Canada's premier national mathematics competition for high school students.
New National High School Math Competition Partnership Launched (Jul 27)
The Canadian Mathematical Society has formed a unique partnership with the University of Toronto and Université Laval to stage the 2011 Sun Life Financial Canadian Open Mathematics Challenge (COMC).
Math Team Canada 2011 Wins Gold, Silver and Bronze (Jul 26)
Each member of Math Team Canada 2011 won a medal after competing with over 570 students at the 52nd International Mathematical Olympiad.
Prime Minister Helps Launch Math Team Canada 2011 (Jul 7)
Math Team Canada 2011 has started an intensive training program at the Banff International Research Station (BIRS) in order to prepare for the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The Rt. Hon. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, helped launch Math Team Canada with congratulations sent to each student.
Math Team Canada selected for IMO (May 31)
The Canadian Mathematical Society has chosen six of Canada's best high school mathematics students to represent their country at the 2011 International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). The IMO is the student world championship of mathematics and will be held in Amsterdam from July 16-24.

2011 Excellence in Teaching Award (Mar 10)
The CMS is pleased to announce that Prof. Yvan Saint-Aubin (Université de Montréal) is the recipient of the 2011 Excellence in Teaching Award. The Award recognizes sustained and distinguished contributions in mathematics teaching at the undergraduate level at a Canadian post-secondary education institution.
2011 Coxeter-James Prize (Feb 9)
The CMS is pleased to announce that Iosif Polterovich (Université de Montréal) is the recipient of the 2011 Coxeter-James Prize. The Coxeter-James Prize was inaugurated in 1978 to recognize young mathematicians who have made outstanding contributions to mathematical research.
Students Excel in Canada's National Math Challenge (Jan 25)
