2014 CMS Winter Meeting sets record for student attendees (Dec 17)

The 2014 Canadian Mathematical Societyâ€™s Winter Meeting drew a record number of Canadian and international student attendees. Students made up approximately 25 per cent of the 500 mathematicians that participated in lectures, scientific sessions and professional development from Dec. 5 to 8 in Hamilton.

2014 G. de B. Robinson Award Winners Announced (Nov 4)

Borwein (Newcastle, NSW), Armin Straub (Illinois), James Wan (Newcastle, NSW), and Wadim Zudilin (Newcastle, NSW) and J. NekovÃ¡Å™ (UniversitÃ© Pierre et Marie Curie) are being honoured this year. The award is given out to recognize outstanding contributions to the CJM or the Canadian Mathematical Bulletin (CMB).

Shawn Godin to receive CMS 2014 Graham Wright Award for Distinguished Service (Oct 6)

Math Team Canada 2014 Wins Olympiad Gold, Silver and Bronze (Jul 15)

Math Team Canada returned home today after their 9th place success at the 55th International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). Each of the six Canadian high school contestants earned a medal for Canada while competing against over a hundred countries at the world championship mathematics competition for high school students.
