Getting Around Halifax

  • Visitors staying at the Dartmouth Holiday Inn should disembark at the Dartmouth Bridge Terminal. The ride time from the airport is about 40 minutes.
  • Visitors going from the airport to the Atlantica Hotel need to transfer from the #320 at the Albermale Street stop (the 320 terminus) to the #80 and the #81. Both will connect to the Atlantica. The #80 bus stop is located a short walk away, on Barrington Street, on the other side of the Scotia Square Mall, opposite the Delta Barrington hotel.   • Visitors need to be aware of Metro Transit's luggage policy
Visitors going from the Dartmouth Holiday Inn to the Dalhousie campus can catch either the #1 or the #41 city bus at the big Dartmouth Bridge Terminal across the street from the hotel. Ride time is about 30 minutes.

The Dalhousie stop for the #1 bus is on Coburg and Lemarchant. The stop for the #41 bus is on Lemarchant, just after the turn from South Street. Both stops involve a short 1-2 minute walk to the venue.

For the Tuesday night public lecture, the visitors staying at the Atlantica Hotel can reach the campus of St Mary's via the #18 city bus. Ride time is about 10 minutes. The trip on foot takes about 20 minutes. For the visitors staying in Dartmouth, the #10 bus will get them to St Mary's in about 25 minutes. Walking time from the Dartmouth Holiday Inn to either campus is about 1 hour.

Maritime Bus has a connection from the Halifax Airport to the Halifax Via Rail station. From the Via Rail Station, you can either take a city bus (the #7) or a taxi to your final destination.
