Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit and present a poster describing their mathematical research. All poster presentations will be judged by a jury of professors, and the top three winners will be awarded prizes.
Interested students should submit a title and abstract with their name and affiliation to studc-winter20-poster@cms.math.ca before 11:59p.m. EST on Friday, November 20th. Students selected to present will be notified shortly after their submission has been received.
Students whose posters are accepted will have their registration fees for the conference waived via a promotional code. This code will be sent to you by the organizers.
Each winner will receive $100 and a framed award certificate.

Complimentary admission for students
Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to submit an abstract for a 20-minute talk. All research areas in pure/applied math, statistics, and math education will be considered.

The student committee of the CMS has prepared a workshop on communication in mathematics. We will hear about how to write a good paper (with mathematical modelling as an example), how to write good scholarships and fellowships applications, and how the recent pandemic has influenced communication in mathematics.

A chance for the students to network and interact in a non-academic setting in a relaxed atmosphere buoyed by icebreaker activities. Mathematically themed games are also planned. More details to come.
