This public lecture is about mathematics which will reveal itself as being entertaining, of fundamental importance, as well as intriguing. Have you ever listened to the music of the decimals of p? Is it possible to become a millionaire by doing mathematics? What are the odds of being all of a sudden teleported to the planet Mars? Should we revise our traditional multiplication tables? These are some of the questions which will lead the laymen to appreciate the beauty and usefulness of mathematics, together with some of its great mysteries. The lecture will be in French, but the visual effects will make its understanding much easier.

Added note by the director of the meeting: Jean-Marie De Koninck has been anchorman of the TV series ``C'est mathématique!'' shown on Channel Z in Québec and on Ontario French Television.
