The College of Arts and Science invites applications from qualified individuals for 3 full- time four-year limited term faculty positions in the area of Mathematics and Statistics at the rank of Lecturer.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach six courses per year with an emphasis on foundational and service-oriented first and second year undergraduate courses in Mathematics or Statistics. While the primary focus of these positions is on teaching, Lecturers are also expected to contribute to the broader goals and activities of the Department. The Department offers undergraduate courses towards degrees in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, and Statistics, as well as several service-oriented courses for students in Commerce, the Life Sciences, and Engineering. Department members are also engaged in research, interdisciplinary and international collaborations, curriculum improvement and development, community outreach and promotion of the Mathematical Sciences.

The College of Arts and Science offers a dynamic combination of programs in the fine arts, humanities, the social sciences, and the sciences. There are over 10,000 undergraduate and graduate students in the College and 295 faculty, including 12 Canada Research Chairs. The College emphasizes student and faculty research, scholarly and artistic work, interdisciplinary programs, community outreach and international opportunities.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline is required. We seek candidates who have demonstrated effective classroom teaching skills, communication skills and collegiality. The specific teaching needs of the Department will be taken into account in the decision making process.

Salary and Benefits July 1, 2016 – June 30, 2017):

Salary band: Lecturer: $77,613 (Floor) to $99,565 (CDI Ceiling)
