Election Results

As a result of the 2015 election that was held on June 6, 2015 at the CMS Annual General Meeting, the following twelve (12) officers and directors have been elected to the CMS Board of Directors and Executive:

CMS Executive Committee:

• President-Elect/President/Past-President: Michael Bennett (UBC);
• Vice-President – Atlantic: David Pike (Memorial);
• Vice-President – Quebec: Chantal David (Concordia);
• Vice-President – Ontario: Rahim Moosa (Waterloo);
• Vice-President – West: Raj Srinivasan (Saskatchewan); and
• Vice-President – Pacific: Florin Diacu (Victoria).

CMS Board of Directors:

• Director – Quebec: Lea Popovic (Concordia);
• Director – West: Gerda de Vries (Alberta);
• Director – West: Michael Doob (Manitoba);
• Director – Pacific: Nils Bruin (SFU);
• Director – Pacific: Brian Marcus (UBC); and
• Director – Student: Svenja Huntemann (Dalhousie).

The CMS would like to thank all members who voted in the advance poll and at the AGM.

This year the CMS will be electing twelve (12) officers and directors and the Nominating Committee wishes to announce the list of candidates for the 2015 elections.

The following candidates have been nominated for the Board of Directors and as executives:

• President-Elect/President/Past-President: Michael Bennett (UBC);
  
  
• Vice-President – Atlantic: David Pike (Memorial);
  
  
• Vice-President – Quebec: Chantal David (Concordia);

West Region (2 openings)

• Director – West: Berndt Brenken (Calgary); or
• Director – West: Gerda de Vries (Alberta); or
• Director – West: Michael Doob (Manitoba).

Pacific Region (2 openings)

• Director – Pacific: Christopher Bose (Victoria); or
• Director – Pacific: Nils Bruin (SFU); or
• Director – Pacific: Brian Marcus (UBC).

Student Director (1 opening)

• Director – Student: Svenja Huntemann (Dalhousie)

CMS will hold the 2015 election at the June Annual General Meeting (AGM). Members who are unable to attend the AGM will be able to vote electronically in an advance poll. Information and voting instructions will be communicated to all individual CMS members soon. In addition, all election information is posted on the CMS website at http://cms.math.ca/Elections/2015/.

This year the CMS will be electing twelve (12) officers and directors for the 2015 election.

You are invited to nominate members to be candidates and their nominations will be accepted by the Nominating Committee prior to April 4, 2015 provided that each person nominated: (i) is supported in writing by at least five (5) other members of the CMS; and (ii) has given written acceptance to stand for office and to supply biographical information.

• Vice-President – Atlantic (NB, PE, NS, NL) for a 2-year term;
• Vice-President – Quebec for a 2-year term;
• Vice- President – Ontario for a 2-year term;
• Vice-President – West (MB, SK, AB, NT, NU) for a 2-year term;
• Vice-President – Pacific (BC, YK) for a 2-year term;
• Quebec – 1 member to be elected for a 4-year term;
• West (MB, SK, AB, NT, NU) – 2 members to be elected for a 4-year term;
• Pacific (BC, YK) – 2 members to be elected for a 4-year term; and
• Student – 1 member to be elected for a 2-year term.

For 2015, the CMS will hold the election at the June Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. Updated information will be periodically e-mailed to members and posted on the CMS website at: https://cms.math.ca/Elections/2015/
