All CMS members and meeting participants are invited to join the CMS Executive to engage on upcoming plans and to discuss any interests or concerns that members of our community may have. A light lunch will be provided.

Engage", "Accelerate", and Other Programs that Connect Mathematics with Industry Panel Luncheon

Monday, December 5
Lunch and Panel: 12:30pm - 2:00pm
Great Room B, 4th Floor

NSERC and MITACS maintain several programs that build connections between academics and industry. These include ENGAGE, CONNECT, CRD and others, in which researchers can apply their skills to real world problems, and may find industrial problems a stimulus for new research questions. Researchers can improve their students' communications skills through programs like CREATE, or give them experience applying their knowledge through internship programs like ACCELERATE. A panel of faculty who have successfully used some of these programs will be present to share their experiences, and to answer questions about how we can best use these programs. A light lunch will be provided.
