Geometric measure theory and arithmetic combinatorics

We will survey a variety of connections between geometric measure theory and arithmetic combinatorics, such as continuous analogues of number-theoretic questions and applications of number-theoretic methods in geometric measure theory. In particular, we will discuss recent joint work with Malabika Pramanik on arithmetic progressions in sparse sets of reals.
