Second Joint Meeting of the Canadian Mathematical Society and the Sociedad Matemática Mexicana 2009

The Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS) and the Sociedad Matemática Mexicana (SMM) are pleased to announce their second joint meeting. This meeting will be hosted by the Pacific Institute of the Mathematical Sciences, and will take place at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, BC from August 13 - 15, 2009.

The CMS and the SMM have been in contact with the authorities regarding the new visa requirements. We understand that additional staff has been sent to the Embassy to help with processing visa applications. Visas are expected to be issued within 48 hours on a priority basis. In support of the application for a visa, the CMS is providing formal letters of invitation (via email in PDF format) for all participants traveling from Mexico. Please contact Gertrud Jeewanjee at meetings@cms.math.ca if you require such a letter.

All scientific talks will take place in the Forest Science Building at the University of British Columbia.
