The Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences, University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC), and the Graduate Department of Mathematics, University of Toronto, invite applications for a tenure-stream appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor, to begin July 1, 2010.

We are interested in candidates with research expertise in Algebra, Number Theory, Analysis, or Geometry.

The University of Toronto is an international leader in mathematics research and education, and the Department of Computer and Mathematical Sciences enjoys strong ties to other units within the University. The successful candidate for this position will be expected to participate actively in the Graduate Department of Mathematics at the University of Toronto, as well as to contribute to the enrichment of mathematics academic programs at the University's Scarborough campus. Candidates should have, or be about to receive, a Ph.D. in mathematics or a related field. They must demonstrate an ability to pursue innovative research at the highest level, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching. Evidence of excellence in teaching and research is necessary. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
