The Mathematics Department at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, seeks research leaders to nominate for a Tier 1 Canada Research Chair, with an anticipated starting date of July 1, 2019, depending on when the CRC is awarded. The successful candidate will be an established researcher with an internationally celebrated record of deep and influential research accomplishments in mathematics, and demonstrated excellence in teaching and supervision at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Duties include ongoing leadership in mathematical research, service to the Department and the academic community, teaching and supervision. Nominees for Tier 1 Chair positions must be full professors or associate professors who are expected to be promoted to the full professor level within one or two years of the nomination. Priority will be given to applicants whose expertise will enhance an area of existing strength or emerging opportunity in the Department.
