The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Lakehead University invites application from strong candidates for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level to begin January 1, or July 1, 2000, subject to final budgetary approval. Appointment at a higher rank is possible for a very strong candidate. Applicants must have completed, or nearly completed a Ph.D. in mathematics and have demonstrated ability, or the potential, for excellence in research, and effective teaching in both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates specializing in all areas of mathematics are encouraged to apply, however, broadly-based individuals that can teach a variety of courses in our course offerings, and can interact with existing members of the department in research are highly desirable.
