The Département de mathématiques et de statistique, Université de Montréal, invites applications for a tenure-track position in mathematics at the assistant level starting in June 2006, subject to budgetary approval. A PhD in mathematics or equivalent is required. Preference will be given to candidates in analytic number theory but any outstanding candidate working in subjects closely allied to this area will be considered. Courses at Université de Montréal are taught in French. Candidates who do not speak French must acquire an adequate knowledge of it within a reasonable period of time after the appointment.
