The Department of Mathematics and Statistics invites applications for a full time faculty position in Statistics with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2002.
The University College of the Fraser Valley has provided innovative and comprehensive educational programs for over 25 years. As an undergraduate degree granting institution enrolling over 6000 students, UCFV's emphasis is on teaching excellence, while promoting scholarship as an integral part of instruction. UCFV offers a full range of undergraduate mathematics and statistics courses, and has recently begun offering a major degree in mathematics.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in Statistics (Ph.D. preferred) and have experience in the application of statistics (e.g. biostatistics, industrial statistics or business statistics). He or she will also have an outstanding ability to teach and communicate effectively to undergraduates (especially at the lower levels) and a commitment to building our degree-level offerings. Examples of innovative approaches to teaching and to course and program design are an asset.
Position Information: Faculty, 100% full time, permanent.
Start date: August 1, 2002
Salary: Appropriate placement on the faculty salary scale.
