Let’s go back to 1983. It was my first interview for a teaching job and the question was: “How do you measure good teaching?” I was a fresh new Canadian with transcripts still wet from printing and very little teaching experience under my belt. “How much the students have learned” was my answer and the interviewer was happy. I did not get that job and over the years I learned that reaching the lofty goal was not easy. Some solutions worked better than others. I wish to share some of the more successful ideas.
