Impact of the EGC on the Executive Office
The administration of the EGC will have an impact on the Executive Office (EO) in Ottawa. The EO will be responsible for storing one copy of each proposal received, and forwarding the remaining copies to the Chair. Each proposal will need to be date-stamped. Each proposal will be acknowledged using the self-addressed stamped envelope included with all complete proposals: the acknowledgment will detail whether or not the application was received on time and is judged complete and whether it will be considered, or not. The title, name and address of the principal applicant, and funding requested will be recorded on a summary sheet that will be passed on to the Chair. The Executive Director will be responsible for forwarding funds to successful applicants on the advice of the Chair of the EGC. The EO will be responsible for placing copies of the successful proposals and subsequent reports on Camel, and correspondence with the applicants will be routed through the EO.
The Task Force recommends that funding of up to $1,500 be allocated by the CMS for use by the EO to administer the work of the EGC.
If the EGC uses the system of primary and secondary readers suggested here, then the summary sheet should include columns where the Chair of the EGC can record the primary and secondary reader of each proposal, whether or not the proposal was funded and at what level.
