Addressing and substitution tilings

We will discuss recent work concerning addressing in substitution tilings. Such addresses allow control over a variety of structures in such tilings, including adjancies, the combinatorics and the geometry itself of the tiling. In essence, there is a correspondence between the combinatorical structure of a substitution species and a automatically defined quotient on a regular language viewed as a topological Cantor set.
