Putting math on the Web


Nearly eight years after the invention of the World Wide Web, it is still a difficult medium to use for the communication of mathematical and scientific material in spite of its phenomenal success in other areas. In this talk, we will briefly survey the status of current technologies for putting math on the Web, and in particular the development and implementation of the World Wide Web Consortium's Mathematical Markup Language (MathML).
