$\textrm{SU}(n)$-Einstein-Yang-Mills fields in spherically symmetric and cosmological space-times

The classification of the possible Yang-Mills connections over space-time that are invariant under space-time symmetry groups is somewhat analogous to the representation theory of these groups and leads to many interesting geometrical and analytical problems. After a quick survey of the possible equations in the static spherically symmetric case and for the locally rotationally symmetric cosmologies some of the simpler resulting systems of ordinary differential equations will be analyzed and (mostly numerically) integrated. These include solutions outside and inside static black holes and, in very similar form, the evolutions of the Bianchi cosmologies with Yang-Mills sources and fourdimensional isometry groups.
