Charles P. Boyer - Contact geometry and Einstein manifolds

We discuss a procedure of symmetry reduction for certain contact manifolds in the Riemannian setting. This leads to new examples of compact simply connected Einstein manifolds of positive scalar curvature. As a special case we obtain 7-dimensional compact Einstein manifolds with arbitrary second Betti number.
