Organizers:<\/b> Ad\u00e8le Bourgeois (University of Ottawa), Emily Carlson (University of Waterloo), Genevieve Maalouf (McMaster University)<\/span><\/p> studc-winter20-poster@cms.math.ca<\/a><\/p> Graduate and undergraduate students are encouraged to submit and present a poster describing their mathematical research. All poster presentations will be judged by a jury of professors, and the top three winners will be awarded prizes.<\/p> Interested students should submit a title and abstract with their name and affiliation to studc-winter20-poster@cms.math.ca<\/a> before 11:59p.m. EST on Friday, November 20th. Students selected to present will be notified shortly after their submission has been received.<\/p> Students whose posters are accepted will have their registration fees for the conference waived via a promotional code. We will hear about how to write a good paper (with mathematical modelling as an example), how to write good scholarships and fellowships applications, and how the recent pandemic has influenced communication in mathematics.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t Friday, December 4th, 2020 | 17:30- 18:30<\/p>\n Organizers: Yuliya Nesterova<\/p>\n A chance for the students to network and interact in a non-academic setting in a relaxed atmosphere buoyed by icebreaker activities. Mathematically themed games are also planned.
