Tenure Track - Algebra and Number Theory

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics, McMaster University, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Algebra and Number Theory at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor. Applicants working in Arithmetic Algebraic Geometry are especially encouraged to apply. The anticipated start date for this position is July 1, 2010.

Candidates should have a PhD and provide clear evidence of an outstanding research programme in a major area of Algebra and Number Theory. The successful applicant may also be nominated for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair (www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca), tenable for five years and renewable once. These prestigious positions are for exceptional emerging researchers, acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to become international leaders in their field.
