Postdoctoral Position in Category Theory

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral fellowship position in mathematics starting in January 2010 (but a later starting date can be negotiated). A PhD in mathematics is required. Candidates in category theory with an interest and ability to work in higher dimensional category theory and homotopy theory (and localization of categories) or in applications of category theory to geometry will be given preference.

This position is for two years with a review after one year. Aside from the research component, the candidate is also required to teach one course per semester at the undergraduate level.

Applications should include a curriculum vitae, a research statement, and four letters of reference, one of which addresses the candidate's teaching effectiveness.

The deadline for applications is September 30, 2009.
