The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of New Brunswick invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position (starting July 1, 2008) in theoretical or applied statistics. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in statistics or in a related discipline, a demonstrated potential for excellence in research and a strong commitment to excellence in teaching. The Department seeks candidates either to enhance or to complement current areas of expertise, which include spatial statistics and longitudinal analysis. Outstanding candidates with expertise in related fields (including, but not limited to, probability theory, actuarial science, or operations research) will also be considered. An interest in statistical consulting would be an asset.
