Limited-Term Appointments in Mathematics and Statistics

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Concordia University in Montreal, Quebec, invites applications for up to six limited-term appointments as follows: five (5) positions in the area of Mathematics (analysis, differential equations, computational algebra, mathematics education, numerical analysis, or optimization); and one (1) position in the areas of Statistics/Probability. Requirements include relevant teaching experience and a completed or nearly completed PhD in the appropriate discipline.
Applications should consist of a cover letter, a current curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy/interests, and evidence of teaching effectiveness. Evidence of teaching effectiveness is the key attribute by which qualified candidates are ranked. Candidates should arrange for three letters of reference to be sent directly to:

Individuals holding limited-term appointments may be granted a subsequent appointment, given continued funding and need, as well as satisfactory job performance. Together, initial appointments and subsequent appointments may not exceed 36 months or a span of three consecutive years. They are normally at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, beginning August 1, 2019 and ending May 14, 2020. Successful candidates will normally be expected to teach three courses per semester.
