Four Tenure-Stream Faculty Positions

The Faculty of Computer Science at Dalhousie University (https://www.dal.ca/faculty/computerscience.html) in Halifax, Nova Scotia is Atlantic Canada's leading academic research institution in information technology. Located in the heart of Halifax, our diverse Faculty contributes to the advancement of technology and its impact on society, in Canada and beyond. To meet increasing demand and growth, we are recruiting four new research-intensive positions at the Assistant Professor level, across our key research areas:

Algorithm Engineering in any area of application (https://tinyurl.com/FCSAlgorithmEngineering).

Data Science including streaming data, big-data software frameworks, and data analytics (https://tinyurl.com/FCSDataScience ).

Artificial Intelligence for Medicine using methods such as Bayesian reasoning, reinforcement learning, human-in-the-loop, transfer learning, and interpretable machine learning in medical applications.  (https://tinyurl.com/FCSAIforMedicine). This position will involve significant collaboration with researchers in the Faculty of Medicine.

Human-Computer Interaction including qualitative research, interaction design, system design and evaluation, mixed and/or augmented reality. (https://tinyurl.com/FCSHCI) .

The Faculty of Computer Science is currently home to over 40 professors and instructors, and over 1400 students. Our researchers hold a wide range of funding across different disciplines, with a strong record in industry-partnered research, and participate in large initiatives such as the Ocean Frontier Institute and the DeepSense ocean data analytics platform (https://deepsense.ca/). The Faculty has degree programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and interdisciplinary programs spanning health informatics, electronic commerce, and bioinformatics.
