Tenure-track Positions
The Department of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of Ottawa invites applications to fill at least one tenure-track position at the assistant or associate professor level, to begin 1 July 2017.
Title of the position: Assistant professor / Associate professor.
Duties: The functions of a member of the academic staff include, in varying proportions: a) teaching activities; b) scholarly activities revealed by research, artistic or literary creation, or professional work; c) academic service activities, d) supervision of graduate students.
Terms: Tenure-track position.
Wage: Salary scales for Assistant and Associate professor are $80,673.00 -$111,574.00 and $89,114-$154,750.00, respectively (as of June 30, 2017).
Benefits package: The University of Ottawa provides a complete compensation package which includes long term disability, basic group life insurance, supplementary health insurance, University of Ottawa Pension Plan and optional life insurance.

Skills requirements:
- Education : Ph.D. or equivalent in Mathematics.
- Work experience:
We are seeking candidates with a proven track record in research, who can teach at undergraduate and graduate levels, and who have the desire and ability to supervise graduate students. English-French bilingualism is an asset.Excellent candidates in all areas of mathematics are encouraged to apply. The department is particularly interested in candidates whose expertise supplements our existing strengths in analysis and applied mathematics in a broad sense. This includes (but is not limited to) operator algebras, ergodic theory and topological dynamics, random walks on groups and graphs, infinite-dimensional groups of transformations, quantum information, partial and functional differential equations, numerical analysis, and scientific computing. The ability of the candidate to participate in more than one of the established research groups will be viewed as an asset (see http://science.uottawa.ca/mathstat/ for more details on this and other aspects of the department).

They should also indicate in their covering letter how their research interests complement those of the members of the department.
