ASSISTANT PROFESSOR
in
MATHEMATICS
The University of Calgary invites applications for at least one tenure track position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, beginning July 1, 2007. The Department is seeking outstanding candidates with a PhD in the following fields:
- Algebraic Geometry, Arithmetic Geometry or closely related fields. Candidates whose expertise compliments the activities of the Centre for Information, Security and Cryptography (CISaC) and the research of related faculty members are particularly encouraged. - Discrete or Computational Geometry. Candidates in this field are expected to have expertise which would support the Centre for Computational and Discrete Geometry. Please visit http://ccdg.math.ucalgary.ca/ for more information about the Centre.
- Inverse Theory and Operators. We are particularly interested in candidates whose expertise compliment that of current faculty members in this area including the activities of the Pseudodifferential Operator Theory and Seismic Imagine group. Duties include undergraduate and graduate teaching in mathematics and the development of an independent research program. The ideal candidate will also have a proven ability for research, good communication skills, and demonstrated quality teaching ability at the graduate and undergraduate levels.
