The Department of Mathematics is seeking to nominate a candidate for an NSERC University Faculty Award in the Fall, 2001 competition.
The University Faculty Award was created by NSERC to encourage Canadian universities to appoint very promising women and Aboriginal researchers to tenure-track positions in Science and Engineering. Further information on the program can be found at the following web page:

The nominee from our Department will have an outstanding record of research and publication in a field related to one of the existing areas of strengths of the Department; these include homotopy theory, algebraic K-theory, number theory, non-commutative algebra, cyclic homology, algebraic groups, complex analysis and analytic geometry. The candidate will also have a commitment to and aptitude for teaching undergraduate and graduate students, and will be expected to supervise graduate theses.
The appointment is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2002.
