Reporting to the Provost and Vice -President Academic, the Dean of Science is responsible for the overall management of the Faculty of Science, providing strategic and effective leadership for students, faculty, the University and the scientific community. The new Dean will begin his/her tenure at UWindsor during an exciting period of growth with the University's hiring of 50 new tenure-track positions and a strategic initiative to build on the university's academic strengths and opportunities. The Dean will contribute to the development of the Faculty's research, teaching, and academic programs while also promoting innovation, teamwork, and synergy across departments. The new Dean will provide advice and research support to faculty, and foster a culture of collegiality, analytical creativity and student -centered learning across the Faculty. By working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to promote UWindsor's interdisciplinary research mission, the Dean will play a central role in supporting the Faculty and the University's commitment to excellence.

As the ideal candidate, you have a distinguished academic reputation, a record of excellence in scientific research and teaching, and the ability to motivate and support other faculty members in these endeavors. You are a hands-on, committed and collaborative leader with experience in academic administration. Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills have allowed you to develop a record of effective engagement with external constituencies and you will look forward to promoting the objectives, achievements, and contributions of the Faculty of Science. You have a demonstrated record of commitment to accessibility, equity, and diversity and will work to support and promote those values in your role as Dean. Your strong decision-making skills, passion for innovation, and facility in strategic planning will allow you to succeed as the new Dean of Science .
